Do you think a new battery will do anything to help the general running of the car , as in starting and the actual running of the engine??
I bought a new one recently and although the other battery`s were not knackered by a long chalk, things seem to run a lot better and sound "sweeter" .
Do you think it is because the batteries have been charged time and time again and even though they are not old they could have lost some "power" ??
What is this "conditioning " thing ??

Battery conditioners just keep them topped up with a very low charge when they need it.

Some more sophisticated ones will discharge a bit and then recharge.

Car batteries like to have a constant low charge to keep them tip top.

Cheers Ben, so would a solar charger help with this ?

Only if the sun shines!

Lidl and Aldi often to copies of Ctek charges for about £12. Get one or two of them.

It will probably work reasonably well,

But I would go for a mains charger.

Fair enough. Personally I wouldn't bother with a solar charger.

I have no experience of them but as previously stated, no sun means no charge. Why complicate things when a regular smart charger is tried and tested.
