E10 FUEL ISSUES?

I am reading press comments about the problems which can be caused by E10 including possible (or likely) condensation in the fuel tank. My 325iT is now used most often about once a week and for short journeys so the the fuel in the tank is normally kept quite low. The fuel lines are original. The question is is this scenario setting up for future problems please? One option might be to continue searching for E5 fuel.

If your fuel hoses are original REPLACE THEM no matter what fuel you are using.

each time i see a post on here or the FB page about E10 fuel & fuel lines it makes me thankfull i changed all my lines to teflon/ptfe lined (E10/ethanol safe) braided steel.

I just dont buy E10 for both the cars, the E46 325 is soooooo much better on economy and performance despite the extra cost.

(1) Looking in Bentley's it's not clear which are all the flexible hoses (sorry, bad English) - for example there may be one from the fuel tank - and (2) I presume you buy by length and cut to size.

Yes get a length of fuel injection hose cut to length. Rear pipes better on a ramp but they do not get the heat and exposure and less hot bits to spray fuel over. Still change them but the engine bay is the priority

Thinking that it wouldn't be an issue after reading various posts, articles etc, I put E10 in my 318i and it starting missing after circa 10 miles then just died. As I couldn't find any issues, I drained the tank, fitted a new fuel filter and put 10 litres of shell vpower unleaded in. Car is almost back to how it used to be but just needs a long run to clear everything out. I won't be putting anything in either of my cars now other than Shell vpower.

The lad who looks after all the cars told me not to use anything else but this and that was nearly two years ago.
The local Shell garage is on a very busy main road and doesnt always have it for some reason but it always gives better performance and economy (e46 325) than E10.

And I thought is was just me !!....................... NOT.
I believe it to be an inferior product to appease someone/thing but is not up to scratch !!
Sainsburys have 50% of their pumps selling E5 97 octane , I have not seen anymore supermarkets doing this............................................................do they know something we dont ????
They have upgraded a lot of their stations recently so a big investment for what could be called "old hat" ??
Keep this going please??

i guess i'm lucky as i normally only have just half a tank of E10 in the car & only use it a bit as the daily runs 90% of the time on LPG instead,

but, the sport uses V-power most of the time.

I buy super either from Sainsbury or Tesco, its the same price as shells E10 rubbish! I cant say if its better or worse as my daily car runs on LPG and averages about 15mpg, I just want decent stuff in the tank as its sits in there a long time

Recent bit on Goggle about E10 says it is not only very bad for the car, new or classic but produces as much if not more pollutants and as you burn more for the same performance, possibly much more. . I cannot see what possible advantage E5 or E10 is apart from the tax point of view.
