Hi People
I am new to the forum and looking for some advice as I currently have a bit of a dilemma. My parents bought an ex dem E30 318 lux convertible from North Oxford BMW in 1993, the car is 100% original right down to key fobs and number plates radio etc (you get the idea) 90,000 miles, only

serviced/maintained at the same dealer. It is beautiful car like new and one I really want to keep. My mother is now in her eighties and would like to pass over to me but I have a sister who needs to have an equal share. What’s it worth? Lachs silver, black leather sports interior(perfect) electric roof (perfect) all paperwork bill of sale etc. Would hate for this to leave the family, what is a fair price to give to my Sister for her half of the car?

Depends if there's any rust. would need more photos but probs anywhere in the region of 4-10k depending on condition.

Thanks, I will get some more photos for you but car has never had any bodywork repairs and is rust free top and bottom (kept in garage all its life and pretty much only driven in dry) My gut feeling is the car is worth 15k as it stands but don’t want to do my Sister down, I am sure there are many restored examples in similar condition but is there many that are so original and what does that do to value?

Originality and low mileage will always be more desirable to the purists and therefore more valuable. I think personally you’re spot on with 15k.

The main thing to calculate here is how does your sister value the fact that it remains in the family, if you want to be 100% straight down the middle then get a proper valuation done, BMW Car Club would be your best port of call for this

Is it still in the area? Not far from me if so :D

Cabriolets are desirable (although a 318i less so) and the provenance is obviously also very good with this car. Sometimes sentiment does get in the way of true value but to buy from the sort of premium dealer that would advertise this sort of car I recon you'd be looking at £10-12k. There's a very similar looking 320i on eBay at the moment advertised at £14,750. Always important to remember the difference between advertised and sold prices though.

Went for 5750. I reckon 10-11k for yours but 15k too strong imo.

I would say around 8-10k maximum. It's got some good stuff going for it (working power hood, low-ish miles etc) but as previously stated, it's a 318i which won't command the same money a larger engined car in similar condition.

What ever happens DONT SELL IT ! you will regret it, on valuation I’m not to good at that so I’ll leave that one to other zoners.
