1987 BMW Pierburg 2e carb refurb kit
Moderator: martauto
Hi I have just restored my 1987 316, its passed its MOT first time and I have just come back from a 2 week holiday touring around Devon, I would like to keep it original, but I would like to over haul the carb. Shock horror its still the Pierburg. Is there a decent kit out there to do this with Thanks
Welcome to the zone mate , huge amount of pics are required of your "proper " car as standard !!!baz-barry wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 4:45 pmHi I have just restored my 1987 316, its passed its MOT first time and I have just come back from a 2 week holiday touring around Devon, I would like to keep it original, but I would like to over haul the carb. I have had two 316 `s and still have a 316 M10 and this one has the Weber conversion with the other which had the Pierburg which just let go one day and was "shit" to say the least !!!!!
It is the best way to go , sound out if any one has one around or "even buy new" !!!

the pierberg is a moody bit of kit that does not age well. overhauling is possible but you il get more reliability from a webber conversion
E30 320i Convertible (1989)
190 Mercedes (1988)
"there is nothing more expensive than a cheap E30"

I have just had a good spin in my Baur today (with the Weber) and it`s a joy to drive, much better than the other M10 with that nasty carb ever could be.aimlessrock wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 6:28 pmthe pierberg is a moody bit of kit that does not age well. overhauling is possible but you il get more reliability from a webber conversion
