Hey Guys looking for your help here.
My E30 325 ) M20B25 engine is parked up on my driveway staring at me everyday.
Unfortunately I believe the engine is fried. How do I know?

Well last year I changed the fuel pump and got her starting however on the way to a specialist the car gave way and refused to start. There was smoke coming out of the enginen and was very hot!. Eventually we go this towed to the specialist and he said that the engine is fried as there was no coolant in the car ( suspected leak).

I then towed the car back home and drained all the oil and ever since its been sitting on my driveway.

Question; What can I do to diagnose the problem? should I start the car with new oil with coolant?
I suspect the head gasket has gone and possibly need a new cylinder head, If so is it better to just get a new engine?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Don't attempt to run it without coolant, and oil. If it's goosed then you'll lose nothing from trying it out, stick some fluids in and crank it, let us know what happens.

If you have a compression tester, or know someone with one, this can assist in diagnosing a failed head gasket (or a crack etc).
