Short shift BMW gear lever, M Sport E92 type.
Same distance between main ball and bottom hole as the 2.8/3.0 Z3 gearlever. It's a 4:1 ratio (so gear knob moves four times as far as the selector rod. Standard ratio is 7:1) . Gives a really nice gearshift that's not too short and doesn't chatter like the cheap all metal ones.
Straight swap for any post 1985 E30.
Cars fitted with the front propshaft balance weight may have to have this removed - or you can heat and bend the steel shift rod to clear. An hours' work on a ramp.

Hey Andyboy. I have a Getrag 240 (from a 320i) going onto my M20B25 soon (doing an M40 to M20B25 conversion). Would this short shift gear-lever fit to that? Thanks

As long as the front prop balance weight isn't there it'll fit.

Will it fit a 1986 316 carb with an M10? Also postage to Mumbai, India please.
(Not a fast car, and am wondering why I would need a short shift
