E28 front seats fit E30?

Weird question, but do E30 and E28 front seats use the same rails etc? ie are they interchangeable?

fair enough, only an idea, was going to lift an m535i, and a e30 interior, but to save space was going to screw the e30 seats in, and leave the crappy e28 ones behind.jonb wrote:no

you can easily fit them; drill through the floor pan with the correct size drill piece watching out for fuel/brake lines underneath, nut and bolt through the subframe holes and blank/leave the old ones. job done

was going to carry the seat change out in the fellas street, i think he'd think that im strange changing the seats over, never mind drilling etc!
