I’m for sorting out the underside of my e30 and was wondering what you guys would recommend for rust protection etc?
I am getting some rot repair done on the usual areas so it will be bare metal in those places (inner sills, arches, battery box etc) and also a few other small bits where I have the oem scraped back will need redone with some sort of protection.
I was thinking zinc primer on the bare metal then some poly sealant of some sort and then just dinitrol over the existing stuff? Just curious as to what to use?
Also would you use cavity wax in the scuttle or just dinitrol or the likes?

Not a huge fan of waxoyl, had it on the car and removed it after days of grafting to get if off so it won’t be going back on

Are you confusing waxoil with the horrible black 'underseal'?? Waxoil will stop corrosion and prevent water getting in, it really is the best stuff to use, underseal is a horrible tar like coating to cover nasty welds and bodges
Kent do a fantastic spray cavity wax in an aerosol
Either way an epoxy primer is the best type to use, then to replicate the factory spray sealer you want to use 3M bag sealer, I cant remember the code but you will find it on here with a search, then paint it, then if you want further protection waxoil it.
Cavity wax in the scuttle 100%

Dinitrol or Dynax are much better than Waxoil.
