Apologies if this has been covered before!

My fuel pump on the 318i M40 has finally packed up.

Anyone know which replacement I need for this? Don’t really think I need the whole unit just the pump itself?

Is there a like for like replacement for the pump?

Thank you!!

Mart.
M10 carb. uses a mechanical pump. M10 injection uses an electric pressure pump, the same as any other 'i' E30.
Early cars used an external (to the tank) pressure pump fitted in front of the rear left wheel, sometimes with an in tank low pressure electric lift pump, and later cars use a high pressure pump inside the tank.
The redundant external pump position was used for the fuel filter on 6 pot cars, but not on 4 pots.
