Some joker on eBay is asking £850 for the glass moon roof sunroof panels. This seems, extortionate although I did consider it. Seems hard to pinpoint what the things are worth. There are a few old forum posts from the USA where they sold for under $400 and it was a few years ago.

Does this seem a sensible yet eye watering premium to pay for something so rare?

You only have to look at the price of M-tech 2 kits, Mtech 1 spoilers, touring mtech spoilers, aircon setups, HLWW etc etc etc. ANYTHING original Alpina

Given a new original steel sunroof panel is over 400 is it a surprise?

Just look at prices of Porsche bits or some early Japanese stuff. not long ago you could pick up a 911 for less than 316 E30s are going for now.

Problem is people have had more time on their hands this year and the hit on finances has not begun to bite for most. Added to which many people with a "company" have been looking to see what they can get for their £50K government BBL so eveything sub £50k has taken a hike through demand

Things are going to soften a bit soon, probably for a while but bits are not going to get more common and sometimes replicas do not cut it.

It's advertised in the listing for a genuine sport shell which he is asking £4k for. Checking prices of some parts compare to the states isn't great, you can pick up rare ratio (in europe) LSD's there for £200-300.
