Hello, welcome to the listing for my 1985 318i Baur convertible BMW E30.

The car has covered 126k miles and is in generally really good condition. The engine runs nicely, gearbox changes smoothly and there are no knocks or bangs from the suspension. Really nice car to drive.

The car currently has no MOT - failed due to a leaking brake pipe and high exhaust emissions. I suspect this is an airflow meter fault.

The interior is in brilliant condition. The electric mirrors, electric windows and central locking all work perfectly.

The outside is in great condition, with the exception of a small dent on the rear of the car. The car was written off 15 years ago (I have a copy of the hpi report available) and this minor dent is still visible. The roof is in great condition and the rear plastic window has been replaced.

Genuine reason for sale- I simply dont get to use the car enough and it deserves to go to a good home where it can be looked after for years to come.

No silly offers please - I am Looking for offers in the region of £4995.

The car starts and drives nicely but is currently SORN. Test drives and inspections welcome.
Location Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Must. Resist.....

Also for the emissions fail, my understanding is pre-cat cars aren't subject to emissions tests on MOT's?

Pre 01/08/'92 cars are tested to much less stringent standards than those first used after this date. Nothing to do with whether the car has a cat. or not, but petrol cars after 01/08/'92 will have difficulty meeting the higher standards without one.
Any E30 with EFI should have no trouble meeting the earlier levels if in decent condition, and by far the most common cause of levels to high is air leaks into the inlet system.

Up to mid 1994 you can do the BET (basic emissions test) on cat cars.
