Afternoon all. I’ve removed the prop shaft from one of my cars and the knuckle is a bit notchy at the diff end. Had a quick google and it looks like you can get replacement joints. Being as the standard ones are peened in place, has anyone had a go at removing it and fitting a new joint?

I'm sure PaulTV had his done a little while back, not sure if it was done here or Germany? Have a hunt back through his posts.
Most good prop shaft places can do staked joints (the correct term for it
)
it is not that difficult to do with the right tools but even though I have some, a prop shaft is something I leave to the professionals having seen first hand the damage one can do when it lets go.
Edit, searched with the correct term and its first post

Prop shaft joints often feel 'notchy' because they don't move enough in use. Give the joints a good exercise session, and you may find that they're fine after all.

It did dawn on me that the range of motion required is pretty small but this one was very clunky. I’ve bitten the bullet and sent it off to Dave Mac Propshafts for a new joint.
