Out of curiosity, what are the zone chips? And how are they different from the ones in offer here please?

When I first joined the Zone, there was a team of very knowledgeable guys, in particular, Ant, who developed and sold a selection of 'Zone chips'. I bought an M20B25 Mild one for my 1988 325iSE and was very impressed with it.
IIRC, Ant decided to leave the E30 world (he ran a garage specialising in them), and allowed some other members (who had access to a rolling road, etc.) to sell the chips, but I think they stopped selling them some time ago.
I was advised to differentiate mine from the ones being officially sold by the Zone at the time by stating they are not Zone chips.

Hi, I’m looking for a chip for my m20b25 (1992 year)
It has a Schrick 272 cam, 6 branch stainless manifold with full Scorpion stainless system and K&N panel filter.
It’s a convertible that only gets used for summer cruising so don’t need anything too aggressive but want to fuel correct for the mods.
What would you suggest would be best chip for the car?
Many thanks Darren

Hi, I am new member, my first post
Got hold of a nice E34 with a M20B28 rebuilt 53tkm ago, need to investigate whether it was mapped. My impressions are that it's not mapped (also rev limit 6.5) and perhaps even the cam is left stock. Planning later to put this engine in my E30. While it's running in E34 I want to check it completely and make it better (injectors need to be cleaned, AFM checked).
Will the M20B27 chip suit my 2.8l engine? Injectors stock, tubular headers, decat + free flow exhaust (lovely sound), stock B25 AFM... cam - need to check, but idle is as stock, so it is either stock cam, or mild cam..

Welcome to the Zone! If yours has a rev limit of 6.500rpm, it probably has been re-mapped, since stock rev limit is 6,250rpm. I can supply a chip to suit if required...Voockey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 05, 2021 12:29 pmHi, I am new member, my first postGot hold of a nice E34 with a M20B28 rebuilt 53tkm ago, need to investigate whether it was mapped.
