Shiny stuff

What a great idea for the heavy bonnet
Have you thought of making more of these to sell to fellow zoners as they are good peace of mind for when you are under the bonnet ??
Mart.

Just a bit of background I had the bonnet come down on my head putting me in hospital, so never trusted the gas strut even though they were genuine BMW parts. I will look into your suggestion Mart, maybe do a video on how to make them.

thats a really good idea,
i've had a bonnet drop on my back after a gust of wind caught it, i'm mindfull of it happening again so i either use a bungee cord on the inner frame of the bonnet or an old broom handle to keep it up.
i'm sure there would be a few willing to buy them as "insurance" so to speak.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

I have made a number of what I call safety bonnet supports for friends with E30s and they have been well received, believe me you do not want a bonnet to come down on your head
.
Parts and actions required.
1. Alloy strip, nuts and bolts, metal tube, plastic washer.
2. Shape top hook.
3. Make hook catch with foam pad.
3. Make bottom pin and plastic washer
4. Attach parts 2,3,4 with nuts bolts and pop rivet .

Some jobs on the e30 can be challenging like changing the bulbs at the back of the heater controls or access to the OBC, the bottom two screws holding the control panel can be awkward to access, so I have had made a couple of fixings to make it easier for future removal by hand, and they are shiny.

Love it! I have chrome bonnet guides and rollers, would you do a commission piece dipstick? Nowhere near your level of shiny but I have polished the inlet manifold and rocker.
