Hi. I recently swapped out the engine from an m20b20 to an m20b25 and since doing that the rev counter has stopped working. It just stays in the position when the car is off. The rest of the instrument cluster is working as it should. Any ideas as to what would cause this and what will fix it? Many thanks

I think there is a plug in chip that codes the cluster to the engine. A little white plug at the front. Wait till someone with more knowledge replies before buying one for a 325 in case I am wrong 🤔

Hi Tineca, yeah I’m aware of this too. I do have another coding plug I did swap that over and try that (I believe the one I tried is for a 325 but will have to check) and it still didn’t work. The engine I swapped in was a prefacelift. But came with the ecu it was running with previously; so was all swapped over

What is your car? Facelift or Pre FL? You can get issues swapping engines or looms between the two.

Hi flybynite, my car is facelift. The engine loom also came with the engine. So we swapped in the engine, loom and ecu into my facelift car.
