I ordered the parts I linked above, listed as OEM parts, were delivered with all the beemer stickers and part numbers stamped on them and they're made by Boysen.
Honestly can't fault Schmeidmann, they've been great for the bigger priced items that from BMW direct cost a fortune!
Excellent. Good to know that Boysen and not Bosal is making the exhausts.
Thanks for clarifying this.

I'm still not entirely sure why I can get stuff shipped across the globe by Schmiedmann for half the price it costs me to buy parts from the local BMW garage

How's the sound of the OE exhaust by the way?

Not fitted yet. Will have the old one off once I get to the suspension jobs.
Engine mounts off yesterday, so just the cam cover and then my first load of blasting can get done, before rebuilding the engine bay.
Hoping to have him running again by Christmas.

I sent them away to be ultrasonically cleaned and refurbed but they came back bare metal so I painted them with high temp enamel, just to be extra safe!

A few people have recommended the chap in Litchborough. There's one in Wappenham who has done some bits for me in the past. I know some guys that started a vapour blasting place not long ago and I've got a small pile of stuff to send them.

Engine is looking good 8)

Sadly lockdown means another pause on significant progress on Errol.... but there is some good news to share!

I won the dream plate!! It’ll be going on in celebration of a successful MOT in the new year 😛

The car looks like it will certainly be worthy of a private plate, it's great you've found one to suit, cant imagine it would have been easy to come by.

I'm a sucker for the distinctive number plate - well done for bagging that one - perfect. When you receive an OBE for services to E30 restoration it will become even more relevant :-)

Thankfully ZERO rust on the bulkhead, so I’m a very happy girly this week!! 👍

This weekend we put the ultrasonically cleaned and freshly painted injectors, fuel rail, leads and a hell load of brackets and the engine wiring loom back where they belong!
He’s coming along nicely!
🤞 we’ll get him running again before the new year.

Hoping we’ll have him running again in the next couple of weeks, outside for a quick clean and then back on the ramp for suspension, brakes, wheel refurb, tyres and exhaust!!
If we keep up the pace (lockdowns stop play!) then hoping to get him MOT’d and on the road before my birthday in April.

Great work!

I've just read from start to finish and now shattered just thinking about all the hours you and your brother have put into the car, so far...... I hope you have him a Christmas card :-D

Looking forward to seeing the end result, fantastic
