Hi, I usually drive old Porsches but the kids are too big for the back. I had an old Cayenne which is dying on me, inconveniently..so deffo finally time for a youngtimer beemer wagon! This popped up locally to me in Edinburgh and so I went for it.

Brilliant red I think, 1989 sold from Wellsway BMW in Bath. 113k miles, original paint, no rust. Wierdly. The arches are a thing of beauty.

Bought it last night and drove it to work today, great drive, loveley motor with a slightly surprising kick at 4k. The suspension is a bit rattly as you'd expect and the front end is a bit light at 90. And it smells slightly of wee. But I'm happy! Need to rustproof it to the eyeballs (ACF, tectyl and waste engine oil), stick on a roofie for my SUP and source some winter wheels. Oh, yes and a cambelt.

It makes a sealion type noise from the propshaft bearing (says the vendor) especially when cold only at 30 ish mph - any immediate suggestions for that?

Smells of wee :rolling:

She’s a beauty! Wellsway used to be my local dealer. Where did you take her home to? Prop shaft bearing isn’t a hideous job but it’s not one I’d much like to do on the floor with axel stands. Depends if you’re a masochist or not :D

Thanks! Home is North Fife near Dundee, up in the Republic of Sturgonia. Dundee has a great old-BMW specialist and so she - Rhuby - will be off there for her cam belt and squeaky back end. And a general schkekkie to see if he advises anything else.

This sold rapidly, I wondered if the new owner would pop up.

Are you using Barry for the work then?

Couple zoners your way.

Hi sanchez, yep wasn’t really a planned purchase, but it stuck out on FB classified like a little red jewel shouting buyyyy meeee.

Do you mean Barry Yacomini in the ferry? He was great for our F20 but I wondered if Ashton Motors were first choice for the older stuff?

Easier to get to for me too. Before they moved to Lochee they used to be just round the corner from my flat back in the 90s when the E30 was but a young un :-)

Hi. Saw this advertised last year but you beat me to it. If you consider selling now or in the future please get in touch. I’m in Glasgow, short squirt away.
