Throttle response is MUCH better than an AFM equiped car - Ive driven this car. Makes a hell of a noise aswell.

Lol wilson, ken was the don
Ant a bit off topic, but i noticed only half the carpet is in that tech 1, how come? just stripping my interior down now and was wondering if you can do one side at a time without cutting?

@ Oguz, no mate, you gotta chop it up, if your carpet is mint try and get hold of Scott325SE, he was after a good one, then maybe you can chop his less than mint one?

Anyone who's got a 325i will know that is a marked improvement in performance, i.e responsiveness.
On mine at the moment cos its running some crappy fse you need to blip it a couple of times to build the revs, before you see any throttle response like that.
Well done that man. Looks like a nice addition to any 325i- that coupled with the BTB and im sure it goes very well. You say it sounds a lot deeper. How does the alteration of the spark/firing order?? change the engine note?
Look forward to chatting to you on Saturday.
Keep up the good work.

You need to adjust it mate. I had one years ago on a 316i, and after some adjustments it worked quite well.Geoff wrote:On mine at the moment cos its running some crappy fse you need to blip it a couple of times to build the revs, before you see any throttle response like that.

This is a big problem i find with heel/toeing, you really need to either give it a big boot in which case you end up braking too sharply, or blip it a couple of times by which time you've slowed down so much you might as well not bother at all.
Any suggestions on how you adjust this chu346? And having a stiff throttle pedal doesn't help either, any ideas how you can sort this out, it has a bit of a grate towards the end of the stroke and a sort of crunchy click right when it hits the stop? Any ideas.
That repsonse looks pretty sweet to me though Ant! Another one for the project list!

William you can adjust the afm by un-screwing the nut on the end (assuming you have an f.s.e) and taking a screw driver screw in the bolt a few times, or un-screw it. This adjusts the fuel pressure.
To get it set up properly you need a pressure guage and then have it mapped on a rolling road. Stinks of effort in my opinion.
Besides when a standard fuel regulator can cope with producing at least 210bhp as is confirmed by Hartge / Alpina then why change it when your running a standard car or even one with a cam, exhaust and filter?
All in my poinion of course and experience as i have run one of these on my old H26 whilst i was running an M30 afm conversion.
But give it a wirl. I'll be removing mine soon, so if you want one to try out, make me an offer.
