Hi guys. So this is bugging me now because I've had the car running a couple times now with no problems

But I've gone to fire it up today and I cant get her to run.
No fuel in the lines and the fuel pump is not prining on the key

I've not changed anything since the last time I had it running which is what's so bizarre.
Any help would be gratefully received

I've just been thinking and the only thing different to the last time it ran is an upgrade chip that was fitted in the ecu

Could this be causing the problem of not telling my fuel pump to prime?

Tested the fuel pump fuse (no 11) and it's dead. No power to fuel pump fuse

Check to see if you have sparks.

I'll check this tommorow mate.
As a matter of ruling out, I've opened up the ecu and checked I had fitted the chip correctly, which I had

But I've refit the original chip now so everything is exactly as it was before... a friend says if the chip is bad (and hes seen it before), the ecu wont send the signal to prime the pump?

You still haven't said if you have sparks at the plugs.

Hi brian. I do indeed have spark. Its run this morning all be it with touch if fire drama I had to quickly attend to 8O

I put live from battery to the pump and it ran. So I primed it, then turned the key and bang! She fired up

I suspect to much fuel in the cylinders though as i primed it manually because it caught fire 8O
But it's all good, shes still in one piece lol

So a relief that the ecu is fine, sparks are fine, so I'm narrowed down to no live getting to the fuel pump mate

I dont really want to fire it up again until my fabricator does the manifolds and exhaust next week but atleast I know its running and nothing serious

What would you suggest now mate? As I can still get the pump power issue sorted. Being an e34 engine the pump primes on the ignition so I'll know its solved without having to "FIRE" it up again

Thanks for your help

Pull out the fuel pump relay, connect a 12 volt lamp between pins 85 and 86 of the relay's socket, then crank the engine. Does the lamp light?

Cranking is sufficient. It won't start if you don't run the fuel pump.
