Hi Brian , I know you will be the most knowlegable on this one.
I am getting a voltage drop on my ignition switch , in power is about 12.55V , on the ignition switch , out I am getting 11.97 - 11.98 with the ignition switched on .
I tested the switch and am getting a 1-1.5ohm resistance on the switch. This is causing lights to dip and stuff when hazards are on or I work the windows. This is with the car off, with it on the drop is larger.
Would or should I put a relay in after the ignition switch to assist the system or is this normal for an ignition switch.

Ok, dont do it , its a non serviceable items. I ended up with springs and stuff all over, there is no way you will get it back together.
Spent the £50 and bought a new unit.

Thanks for this update- from looking at pics. of these it looks like an easy job to lever the cover off, clean the internal contacts up , replace cover and bish-bosh the switch is good for another 20 years. But obviously not.

I wish it was, when you pop open the switch....it all falls apart so quick you dont have time to see what goes where
