Hi guys

I have an early chrome bumper and of late my drivers window seems to be very slow , the lights all dim on the dash when I hit the buttons as well . Any tip or tricks to rebuild these as they are not avail new. Or something with a bit more guts to get it to move quicker.

I know I can swap to the later versions , but they are few and far between in SA and the local guys are asking mad prices for anything E30 related.

A little silicon grease sprayed into the window runners often works wonders on slow electric windows.

Some update on this , did the silicone spray on the guides and removed the motor to test.

Put it all back and the windows are still slow and struggle (lights dip on the dash) , going up

Took a battery and connected direct to the motor in the door and clearly I have an issue on the wiring somewhere as the windows work perfectly when directly connected to power.

Could be the multi-connector on each door A-pillar. Do a search on here for 'C404 connector'

Early edition Chromie did not come with a connector , wires go direct into the doors
