I have decided to drop in a bluetooth radio from Continental which has a 80's vibe to it but will allow me to use my iphone without any cables.

whilst I am at I quite fancy giving replacing the Speakers. My car only has the front ones so I could do with some recommendations.
I do not plan on having a massive sub or anything like that, just looking for something which I can play loudly when I have the roof down. I realise it will never be hi-fidelity and do not need that, but it would be nice if they did not distort and rattle! I would also prefer to just drop them in.
What would you buy?

I also have Ground Zero's in my cabby - the sound is not bad - I can crank it up with the roof off and its OK - obviously not like having a sub and all that other stuff in there.

Speakers will just be a personal preference really - ideally you want to listen to some different brands, if you can!
I think a decent improvement could be had by paying attention to good installation in the E30 - having no real interior (other than seats) in my touring at the mo, I can see how badly most aftermarket speakers fit!!!
The OEM speakers had a square(ish) metal surround and aftermarket round ones leaves gaps all over the place, that should be sealed!!!! I know the carpet and panels help some, but I'm sure it would make a significant difference!!!
Obviously, if you have rattles too, you'll need to track them down to stop each item rattling!!!

Pioneer man myself, 3 ways in front, two ways in parcel shelf and woofer under seat. rated at 30% above max output. mega expensive 1980s Pioneer KEX M900 with FM tuner and CD shuttle, 4 x 250W and 2 X 250W (bridged for woofer), the two amps in boot, totally retro but fantastic sounds.

Tweeters, I would love some 13776872L and 13776882R, one day, when I have financially recovered from lock down zero income. I have tweeters in stock but I like to keep the E30 'kosher'

For my convertible I also installed a subwoofer in the spare wheel well as it sits in the spare wheel, sounds okay well better than without. Hmmmm looks like Pioneer still make a version of it,

Also I added a switch to a spare blank in the dash to power the aerial as when listening to say MP3's you don't want the aerial up making a noise when the roof is down.
So did you manage to settle on a setup?
Nice! Howโs the sound without any bass in the boot?
