And what options are there?
Is it a job that can be done by someone with basic knowledge of mechanics or would a professional be needed to fit it?
Thanks.

Very basic job. Easy, I did it a few months ago. All you need is the Z3 shifter and a pair of pliers. All can be done from under car and in the drivers seat
Oh sounds good, cheers for the help.BristolE30 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 7:38 pm

Cheers, i PM’d Andy just in case it hasn’t sold yet. I’ll keep looking.Brianmoooore wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 11:54 pmviewtopic.php?f=6&t=280616 Andyboy (Andrew Everett the motoring journalist) knows his stuff, so I've no doubt it does what he says.
This particular one looks like it may be sold, but it may be worth enquiring with Cotswold what a new one costs.
Yank one looks good, but it's not cheap, especially by the time it gets here.

Unnecessary boy racer part from the USA. If the original rod's bushes are worn, then replace them or the whole rod. The later, wider version goes a long way to addressing any play here in any case.
Again, if the bush is worn, replace it. Otherwise the original is fine. It only affects the location of the gear lever, not the change.rear mounting for the carrier arm,
I doubt that there are still E30s around using the original rubber giubo, and replacement ones don't need the damper, so if it's still fitted, remove it.either way you might have to slightly bend the selector rod to clear the big counter weight on the back of the gearbox (thats if your car still has it fitted).

Only thing to note with this guide is you don’t actually need the new (or old) yellow spacers anymore as the new Z3 shifter bottom eye has enough width on it to fill it out
