Amazing site. Reference wiki how-to on this site: https://www.e30zone.net/e30wiki/index.p ... con#Wiring

I've been gathering up the pieces and parts to add aircon to the Touring I imported to the U.S. from Germany. In the wiki, it describes, I think, two harness types for the aircon itself. This seems to be one of the last items I require, that is, the under the hood/bonnet wiring harness to get my system wired up. Given I didn't have aircon to begin with, can someone confirm what it is I need under the hood/bonnet? Will either harness work? I do acknowledge one is a part of the main loom as described in the wiki. Note: I have the proper under the dash HVAC unit that I sourced here in the States.

Thank you,

Patrick Arnold

The second harness described is actually part of the body loom, so you would need to buy a full car loom to remove this from.
The plug in separate harness can be made up quite easily as there are only 7 or 8 wires, this is the way I would go if it was the only part I was short of, finding the engine bay loom on its own will be difficult, its worth checking if its available from BMW though

DanThe, thank you for the additional information and for the suggestion. I have been looking at the schematics and you are correct, it doesn't look that difficult. Locating the various plug types might be the largest challenge. I've been looking through realoem to see if I could find the separate engine bay loom. No luck thus far, but I may not have hit the magical year or specific model it was available on.
