Interesting, to be honest i was only going on what I read elsewhere but reading the thread it appears you maybe can stream.
Screen shot of manual below, I'm sure someone who has fitted will be along shortly to confirm.

I can confirm that music playback definatey works - with an iPhone at least through Pairing. Also shows the names of the tracks on the display.
Quality 10 fold compared to the previous aftermarket unit.
Highly recommended

Couldn't help it - looks like a nice bit of kit. Haven't had much chance to play around yet but that's what next week in France is for...

Very nice! We are doing the opposite side - Paris > Lyon > Cannes > Provence.
Really really hoping she makes it in one piece...

Oh fantastic, thanks for that! Fits in perfectly with the trip too. Looking forward to that drive! Hope everything works....
Bit envious of a standard car and 4 doors for a trip like that! Good luck avoiding the fuzz

Motorway limit is 130kph mostly unless otherwise stated, that equates to about 80mph. You need to keep your eye out for the camera signs and small grey cameras, you will get sent the fines in the UK if you set one off! The car is mostly stock, other than eibach springs, poly roll bar bushes, purple tag rack, 370mm wheel. Could do with aircon and one of those new stereos though!

Waze works quite well over there and shows the zones where speed cameras will be. Pay attention to those zones and you should be safe.tha881 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 2:14 pmMotorway limit is 130kph mostly unless otherwise stated, that equates to about 80mph. Where's the best place to obtain one of these Bremens? They seem to be £399 here in the UK and a little cheaper if you don't mind purchasing from Germany... does Germany use the same band widths as UK? I got burnt in the past buying a US market head unit that had different FM band.

The price on Amazon fluctuates significantly, but it was down below £350 quite recently. Worth checking this if you're wanting to save a few quid: https://keepa.com/#!product/2-B07XVMBKW4

After having to re-solder a fuel pump on the side of the A2 this morning I am not sure I have utmost faith in either of them now...
Made the Tunnel though!

Radiator and alternator both new...figure out the standard jack can make do and all the sockets in the tool box. No overalls, just more towels!
You can tell the lack of starter motor is concerning...

Decent gloves for if you have to put the spare on.

So I've joined the Bremen club. Easy install because somebody previously wired my car with Iso connectors.
Struggling with DAB signal but probably due to the backwater I live in.
Must replace the old LPG switch though, can't see it from the natural position of the drivers seat so never got round to it.

Managed to get DAB signal later in the day and my phone to stream, Volume is lower streaming even with phone on full plus haven't figured out how to store stations yet, The customary hold down a numbered button didn't work.
Will have to read the novel that is the instructions.
Sounds great although I have no idea what speakers I have as I've never looked. Tweeters have been added to A posts so probably not originals elsewhere.
Also seems slightly loose in the cage so something else to look at. Cage is tight in the dash.

Are you using a DAB splitter? If so which type, one for amplified aerial or one for passive aerial? I have a hirshman (sp?) powered antenna on my car and I confused as to which DAB splitter to use.Dlb26 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 9:19 pm20200726_200113.jpg

Another question, will it playback content from your phone via the USB? Will it charge your phone via USB?

Yes it will play from phone via USB - it will charge, although VERY slowly, and only from 1 USB port at a time (from what I can tell to date - mildly frustrating and seems illogical, but hey ho)

Sounds like the USB slot is powered to 1amp (or less). I guess the phone may even lose charge if you 4g stream & navigate at the same time.

Look at Dab on wheels website, it has a page on amplified and passive types. It basically states that old school telescopic powered aerials are almost never amplified so that was enough for me.

Thanks for that, I have now ordered... I went through Amazon as I want fast delivery so as to have it all installed before our trip to France & Italy in August. It should take up less space than the modern looking Alpine stuff I currently have. I will be able to remove the optional BT adaptor box that the Alpine required.

Here you go.
Not the most subtle thing in the world so hopefully the splitter will work better and I won't have to have anything extra.
