The bolts on my side covers are looking a bit manky and I want to change them. They have shims behind them setting the bearings so fate needs to be taken.
If I torque them up to the proper torque will it be OK to change them one at a time?
OR - Is it not worth the risk?
BTW - 4 bolt side plates.
Diff side plate covers.

If you are just changing the bolts you wont have any problems, the shim is behind the cover and is made of steel so will not be affected
