I've bought from BMW in the past, and they were rubbish - went yellowy.

Is there a good source that anyone has found?

Thanks.

There are genuine BMW roundels, which have always been excellent from my experience, and literally everything else is chinese tat. I accidentally bought chinese ones for my E36 (they were advertised as genuine) and they started falling apart after 6 months.

actually that's a fair point - I bought something advertised as genuine with the correct BMW part number on it - doesn't mean it was genuine BMW :D

Plastic of metal doesn't seem to matter much. plastic actually last longer in the sun as the paint just burns off the metal ones. metal painted AND coated in plastic would be perfect, yet to find one but at 9€ a pop I just buy a cheap one every year. My dear step son has a M5 copy on a 525TDS and insisted buying one from the BMW dealer at over 45€. lasted 2 years.

Ah ok - thats what happened to me too (eBay). Genuine roundels are always around £35 / €40 - any cheaper and they're fake, or second hand!

I've bought a couple of the years ,either they don't fit because the pins are to close / far apart or the shape is too flat when it should be convex

You have to buy them from the dealer, the chinese are very good at labels and packaging now. Ive bought loads from BMW and never had a problem with them, apart from impact damage obviously

I noticed that some fakes are pretty good. But the labelling and packaging always looks a little off.
Not to mention the price!

When parts manager for a Honda dealer I was asked by a factors rep', "Did I want patent parts in a patent box, a patent part in a genuine box or genuine parts in a genuine box?", lots of options. Even out of the box it was very difficult to tell and in many cases they were made by the same people.
