I've just received the strongflex rear subframes bushes that I ordered and I'm worried about the difference in height of the top ring/shoulder section.
My question is what do the upper and lower most parts of the bushes actually touch/support so would this height difference be an issue and lead to the subframe being at an angle from one side to the other? Yes there are two different parts, one has a completely flat face and the other has a concave face. This is both of the concave ones next to each other.
Still both of the concave

I cant say how that is going to affect the geometry, you certainly would have thought they would be identical. If you have a battery in boot, and if one is going to make the car sit higher then put it battery/driver side?
If it were me I would just buy some lemforder ones and return those, you can always buy the fillers from Dan to stiffen them up.

It's a 320 so battery is up front but yeah I was expecting them to be identical. Are the lemforder ones the same as the Meyle/Febi OEM replacements or do the inserts only fit lemforder? Was thinking of returning these and going with powerflex instead.tha881 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 12:50 pmI cant say how that is going to affect the geometry, you certainly would have thought they would be identical. If this is a road car, then the beam bushes are intended to flex. They are designed to introduce a small amount of rear wheel steering when cornering.

Just goes to show how much effort is put into making a product. There are very few companies I would buy poly bushes from

Some of the best ive seen are by Superpro, the trailing arm bushes for one are 10 times better than the powerflex equivalent. The biggest issue with poly is it being a tight enough fit, ive replaced 25 year old genuine bushes with customer supplied poly and ended up with more movement..
There is a list on here of tried and tested best bushes type for all the locations on an E30
My preferences for a road car are
Front wishbone - genuine BMW rubber eccentric M3 type
Front ARB - poly
Rear subframe mountings - rubber (BMW/Lemforder/Febi) with bush fillers
Rear trailing arms - poly
Rear ARB - poly
Rear diff - rubber
Strut top mountings - rubber oem
