Hi,
I'm reading a lot of mixed opinions and results of the supereta. There's a garage able to do it for a relative low extra price (they already did it a few times), but I'm reading that some people say it brings a lot of potential issues and others saying it's more reliable than stock..
Other than that I'm also reading about the HP. Increase being 7-9 HP and others saying is 50-70 of extra HP. Which is it?

Theoretically, putting the 885 (325i) head on should give you an Alpina B3/C2 2.7 level of power, around the 210bhp mark, but you would also probably have to change the pistons, camshaft, ECU EPROM chip and fit a six-branch exhaust to get to that sort of level.
Obviously, raising the engine power significantly will result in an engine that wears out quicker than a stock eta (with more stress and strain on the bottom end bearings, etc.), but they are generally strong, well-balanced engines.

Depends on what you are reading, the eta had a cast crankshaft, 130mm con rods. The Alpina had a forged crankshaft 135mm rods bigger valves, head work, cam, exhaust, remapped Ecu and could rev much higherKalimsnor wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2020 4:09 pmHi,

A lot will need changing to add that kind of power, not just the head.
Are they talikng about making a super-eta or putting an 885 head on it and "making it work". What exactly are they telling you they will do?
That is the difference between people who don't know what they are doing, doing it on the cheap and people who do know what they are doing spending the money required

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying guys, I've decided to postpone it for now and do it at a later stage when I can do the other parts all at once!
