BMW e30 AFM needed

Hiya

Does anyone have an AFM for sale? Must be fully working condition.

Or anyone know someone that refurbishes these?

In some cases, more than one part number will fit the same engine, as production changes were made during the time a particular model was available, so you'll possibly get more responses if you say what engine and what age this is for.

Nope, the 082 was one model only, no need for further clarification.

On that take then it's still the same scenario, The 082 AFM has the port sizes for the M20B25, other AFMs in the BMW range are smaller (M20/M40) or else wont run it if they do fit (M30).

Yes they're not terribly common and they're no longer cheap, but no you can't fire on something else.
A different airbox from anothre model E30 might fit but that's irrelevant if it's the AFM you need.

That's still not what I mean. The 325i E30 was fitted with a few different AFMs through its production run, and most of these are interchangeable.
For instance, ATP offers rebuilt AFMs, and the same one is offered as a replacement for the OE 082 and the 003.

Out of interest where are people getting the list of Bosch part numbers for the AFM?

I can find the BMW part numbers beginning 13 easy enough on realoem etc but not the Bosch ones beginning 02

The ATP site I mentioned above lists both alongside each other.

No, it wasn't.
The OP specified exactly what he needed, and that is what he needs. There isn't an alternative OE part.
Any aftermarket supplier can issue any other part number they want however.

I'm aware of the ETK buddy, I use it every day.
You can see exactly what I can see.
1 original part number.
1 superceeded part number for the same Bosch unit.
1 "heavy duty only" part which isn't applicable to UK cars (possibly for cars supplied to extreme climates?) That part isn't listed for most of the vehicles that came with a M20B25 fitted (including the higher load 325iX and E34) so it's clearly not a standard nor interchangeable part.

Ergo, there is ONE option for a UK supplied, (relatively) standard car.

The OP asked for that and was offered that. That should be the summation of the whole thread now.

OP asked for an 082 AFM and you were able to offer one, which is absolutely fine.
However, if the OP was mechanically inept and/or flushed with cash, and decided to treat his car to the attentions of his local BMW dealership, then, if they diagnosed a faulty AFM as being part or all of whatever problem the car had, then it would have been returned to the OP with a shiny new 003 AFM fitted.

Hi guys, thanks for responses.

I found the part number for the AFM on the actual AFM that was on the car.

Also, to ensure it was the correct one installed, the old alpina catalogue for the c2 also lists the 082 AFM. I'm imagining it was an alpina upgrade for the c2?

ATP do a refurbish, you have to post the afm to them.
