Bought these two with the intention of swapping everything into the shell which is i really good shape.

1233957_1623315124404443_5647052836128483099_n.jpg

Got them back to the garage and made a start on tidying the shell up ready to start bolting bit onto it.Three very small bits of welding have been done ,a new slam panel (someone used it as a jacking point ) and all loose underseal removed seam sealed and stonechipped.

So true. Still never driven another car that puts a smile on my face as much as an e30 does.

Small bit of progress.

Started rubbing down in prep for paint and found another small bit of rust that needs addressed.

San Marino Blue would look great! Are you going to put the bumper trims back to black? Or have them body colour?

Tried to remove the bumper trims but wasn't going to happen without breaking all the clips so they are going body colour.

Crank the central heating up to max. in one room of your house, bring the bumpers inside, leave them for an hour, then try. As I've just posted in another thread, a bit of warmth works wonders on the flexibility of plastics.

Finally got some paint on .bonnet has tiger stripes and not had it outside to see if the metallic is patchy (probably will be )
Lost the will to live painting this ,first attempt was a bit cold so rubbed back down ,second attempt got bad reaction in places so rubbed back down barcoated and re-primed whole car again .I should stick to plumbing

Looks great in blue! Was the old shell beyond saving rust-wise?

The old shell needs welding in a the usual places. It is going to be repaired at some point by my cousin who is currently making a rotisserie for it.

Thought i would try the borbet a in white ,but not sure tbh.
Ride height is way to high ,not sure why as it was fine on the other shell before i stripped it surely it would have settled by now if it had to settle at all.

Anyone any thoughts on the ride height ? Only difference now is there isn't a sub box in the boot .

I think the blue and white combo looks great!
Did you put in new top hats and spring pads when you swapped the suspension over? My only guess as to what might have lifted it. That, and the low profile tires might exaggerate the gap.
Will look perfect if you can get her to sit down a bit winkeye

Everything off the old shell was put on to this nothing was changed as the suspension had under 2k mile on it . Even the tyres have been swapped over for the 16" steelies . I was wondering if a drive would sort it out as it hasn't left the garage but i reckon it won't.

Got it outside today and apart from the bonnet having tiger stripes i'm happy .

On to the small electrical issue m having like
no reverse light (more than likely the switch in gearbox)
I cant find the wires for the washer bottle (anyone tell me what colours the wires are ?)
Foglights not working (anyone tell me what colours the wires are ?)
Also need a horn as old one had rusted away (anyone tell me what colours the wires are ?)

Far better wiring diagrams here: http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/BMW/19 ... 0DIAGRAMS/

Washer: purple/black and brown/black

Foglights: LH: yellow/brown and brown, RH: yellow/purple and brown.

Horns: brown/yellow and brown.

Reverse lights might well be switch (it's a very poor internal design), but check fuse 10 first.
