Welcome to the Zone Rust in the bulkhead, rear arches (ask to take the rear seats out ,easy to do) , front floor pans , jacking points rear valance , if the car has a body kit fitted try to get a look behind and engine/heads are susceptible to head gasket failure, electical toys ie central locking, headlamp wash wipes etcare not reliable but can be repaired but in saying all that the are still quite a few good ones out there so don't buy the first one you see as there will be a better one just around the corner

thanks!

i have 3 weeks until the mot runs out on my current car so i plan to look at a few.

I had no idea there were that many variants of the model till i found this place..... suddenly my budget seems a bit small though.

i want a 2 door for less than a grand looks like it will be a long search!

Dude, a 2 door for less than a grand, I've bought my second E30 this week for Ԛ£367 and my first was Ԛ£400! And that one goes like a rocket.
As with any car, do not buy the first one you see, my flat mate did this with an Audi coupe and he is still regretting it 12 months later.
And you will see what you like dislike and think are problems as you look at more cars, just get out there and get your head round where the market is at the moment.

What have you got now? And what are you looking for? 316 318 320 325?

i'd rather not say what i have got now its a little embarrasing!

ok maybe a little clue...think french student oil burning sh!t heap....????

Im looking for a 325! preferably sport.

there are a couple of good ones on ebay that i will be looking at this weekend and a few on autotrader. i might increase my budget for a nice one.

Quick question is it wirth spending the extra cash for the LSD? im no drift king but i wouldnt mind learning!!!

Welcome
When the back end goes right, turn right.
When the backend then goes left, turn left
And so on until straight
If backwards
Start again

1988 325i SE Manual 178,00m
11 months MOT no tax I'm afraid
Grey Sport leather if the price is right
Lachs silver paintwork 15" BBS
Mechanically brilliant goes like stink, engine just worn in, Z3 short shift, OBC, however there is some rust patches, sunroof, boot, sills (which have been welded by me and painted in primer) and it is scratched to shit and has 3 dents. None of the rust is structural the MOT tester said it was surprising ly solid underneath despit looking like a shit heap (I rarely wash it) Has fog lights too, and one of those rear blind things on the parccel shelf.

Yours without the leather for Ԛ£400
