What has happened to this forum. I joined last year and to be honest is it worth renewing! Went to their stand in November at the classic car show and they were'nt the most friendly of stands to chat to! Their forum seems to have no body using it except to say 'hi I am a new member'!
Anyone else have an opinion on this before I renew?
regards
Richard

Spoke to them about getting a certificate of conformity as I was transfering one of BMW's onto French plates and they were useless.
A couple of people didn't even know what I was talking about but the ones that did simply weren't interested and basically said stump up the 150 quid to pay the stealers for it, despite the fact they used to do it for free.
No thanks lol. Won't be joining anytime soon.

i used to be a member about 10yr's ago, never used the forum but i know some of the local meets can be a bit iffy with folk,
i went to one with a mate not long after we both joined, me in my old 2.7 tech 1 sport & my mate in his not long restored e9 csl rep,
to say the reception was "cold" is an understatement, despite the enormous cost in both money, time & effort my mate had put into the resto of his e9 we were both told to park at the back of the carpark.
most of the cars there were the latest model, & all the seemed to want to talk about was how much they had spent on their car & what the resale value could be.
they guy in charge was so far up himself he was in danger of disappearing.
so, if the local meets were/are anything to go by i dread to think what the forums are like.

Ok Thanks! The forum seems to be not busy as many questions are left unanswered. Not helpful if you are trying to maintain a club to be honest! Magazine is good at times! Nice photos! If you own a E30 M3 you get some fuss. 325i not so much!

Think what my 316 auto Baur would get ???
I have heard about the snobbishness before and I have declined to join and the forum also seems to have gone away, shame as it could have been really good.
Mart.
Only the E46 cab left now.
Just got too old.

I am currently a member. It is worth it for the magazine, insurance discount and the discount to the car shows you can go to.
I occasionally go to the Wessex club meets. The crowd are pretty open and warm. They have a quite a wealth of expertise with old mechanics and are always interested in any clean tidy classic.
I visited the club office in Wales before the staff changed last year. New staff are not quite as warm, but I have found them quite helpful so far.
