I use BMW's own portal for most of my bits - its always significantly cheaper than my local dealers, and shipping is free for anything over €75. Its offline at the moment for maintenance - but the url is http://shop.bmw-classic.com

Try Jon at Cotswold BMW - often extremely price competitive for original parts and also a very knowledgable chap.

Wakefield, when this lot is over we could perhaps get a few cars together to the "Leeds Cruise" meet?

Morning,
I found the BMW classic site to be useful a couple of years ago and yes it had free delivery. I tried it a few weeks ago and it was unusable. The site was solely in German and couldn’t change to English. I used Schmiedmann instead to get a few emergency parts. You’d just need to keep an eye on their VAT and delivery rates. Apart from that the parts I needed to move forward with the engine rebuild arrived to the north of Ireland within 6 days...
Cheers,
Joe

The BMW Classic site has been down for a few days. It's back up as of today, available in English or German (for the more authentic experience), but it's still unbelievably slow and keeps "forgetting" your vehicle. A shame because it could be really good.Etharla wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 7:26 amMorning,

I ordered some stuff from Schmiedmann a couple of weeks ago. Despite saying items were in stock when I placed the order, it turns out they're not in stock

After they "improved" the BMW Classic website I found it a PIA to use, so gave up with them.
I've used: https://www.leebmann24.de/ ever since for original parts and AutoDoc for consumables.
The Leebmann site is only in German, but its easy to understand - postage to UK is a bit more - I must say if you are in the UK then Cotswolds would seem to be the way forward.

Although I have bought most of the stuff from Cotswolds, a good web site to gauge price and more importantly availability is this one.
https://www.bmwautoparts.net/en
The web site seems to be a real-time reflection of available and NLA items and saves having to bombard Jon with 'price and availability' requests

My Schmiedmann stuff arrived today. Three and a half weeks to get from Denmark to Australia isn't too bad I suppose - at least the tracking was good (unlike Amazon). Very pleased with the quality and price.
