Evening all
There is good news for some of us depending on when your MOT is due.
As a result of the current situation the government is extending all MOT's as them come due for 6 months, starting from 30th March 2020.
For more information: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/vehi ... oronavirus
Please note - 'Vehicles must be kept in roadworthy condition'.
At least there might be some silver lining in this all. That and being trapped at home, right next to our garages...

Not for the MOT stations, they will claw the money back one way or the other.

Come October you won't be able to book an MOT for love nor money and the cost will be double.

My tester has an E30, and I have a ready supply of E30 spares.

Won't be a problem for most of us with car that we only put on the road for 6 months though. Can just SORN the car again until next Spring.

I do get 'trade' MOT tests, but there have always been plenty of 'retail' test offers around, even in the backwater where I live, occasionally at marginally less than what I pay. Loss leaders, I suspect, in the knowledge that they will likely get the repair work.Satan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 7:55 amSo you get trade price,Brianmoooore wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 7:22 pmStandard MOT fee will be about double what I normally pay!

A cheap MOT is usually accompanied with a fail for things like brake lines
