Hi all,

Wondered if anybody can help with a factory/dealership fitted alarm and remote central locking on my 1990 325i SE? There doesn't seem to be much info out there on these, but I understand it is a 3G mk1 system (black single button fob with corner missing) - I believe these were fitted to e36 too.

This has been working perfectly until recently, becoming intermittent - battery in both fobs are new.

I have found what I understand is the alarm module and remote central locking module in the glovebox -

BMW 82119418402
BMW 82119418403

Strangely there are two alarm modules (same ..402 part no) - each have a blue loose cable (both male connectors).

I believe the potentials issues could be -
1) Battery in module needs replacing - not clear from what I have read these model has a battery
2) Loose earth somewhere - unable to find the earth for these

Anybody else have one of these fitted and can shed some light or tech specs?

Pictures attached.

Thanks, Rob

Bump. Can anybody shed any details on these set-ups? Can't seem to find much info anywhere.

Remote central locking is now work after cleaning up earths - but now the windows do not automatically close when I lock the car with the remote.

I replaced the batteries in the alarm module under the bonnet in this thread below. It's still working well - does get upset if i let the battery go flat but the car is kept on trickle charge. I've not got the window closure but do have central locking. Best of luck!
