Not sure if anyone is interested but I thought I would post this up as the site needs some traffic.........
Anyways a friend of my cousin's husband was browsing eBay and was looking at plane engines, so to cut a long story short he bought a Merlin engine which after contacting RR etc etc
turns out was fitted to a Spitfire from 303 Squadron and Scott is now in the process of building a replica Spitfire.
You think the E30 lot are nuts, this takes it to another level....... of nuttiness.
Enjoy

looks along the same lines as the one charlie broomfield in PPC mag has in his rover sd1 though his is the non supercharged meteor engine.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

If you want to see a Lanc up close the go to east kirkby (Lincolnshire) when they taxi runs, or the battle of Britain memorial flight at connisingsby (again Lincolnshire).martauto wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 7:00 pmAbsolute work of artSatan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 3:40 pmNot sure if anyone is interested but I thought I would post this up as the site needs some traffic.........

Haha yeah good point lol
this one he was in had a bullet entrance hole in the upper part of the fuselage and the original bullet still engraved in the metal plate behind the pilots head! That’s gotta add 1-2 million more i imagine!!

I remember a Lancaster bomber accompanied with 4 spitfires doing a remembrance flight a few years back, flown quite low and close to me and the noise those engines make is something else.
It's putting hairs on the back on my neck just thinking about it. Incredible piece of historical engineering at its finest.

if you want to see the likes of the lancaster & spitfire (amongst others) up close & personal then these are the two places you should visit.
https://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/
https://www.raf.mod.uk/display-teams/ba ... al-flight/
the one at Coningsby used to have the vulcan bomber there (i think they still do) that makes the lanc look like a sopwith camel as it's that big.
both places are well worth a visit.

a bit like that flyover that park in Sheffield where a US bomber came down during ww2 that the bbc arranged last year.boiliebasher wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 10:13 pmI remember a Lancaster bomber accompanied with 4 spitfires doing a remembrance flight a few years back, flown quite low and close to me and the noise those engines make is something else.

my house was on the flight path so i had a fantastic view as the planes went over on their way there.
