Hi,

Just bought a new sill for passenger side as mine was cracked! I have read a few posts on here saying these are clip and slide on to the bodywork! Does anyone want to suggest perfect way to put these on! Also taking off old one! Also someone on here wanted to know the part number for a new one so here it is!

regards

Richard

I’ve never heard of someone using sill covers... are they recommended? I imagine they could become a bit of a mud/rust trap

These are the trim which fit inside the door frame at the bottom of the door opening , not on the external sill

If I remember correctly these slide off towards the rear of the car. I would suggest purchasing a few spare clips

Replaced sill without breaking any clips! I slid the old sill backwards until the first clip exposed then pull the sill forward until I was left with one clip in the middle which just happen to pop out without breaking!

That is the correct way to remove this trim. The clips should then be removed from the sill, slid into the channel on the trim, and the whole thing refitted as one.
If you think you may want to remove this trim more often than very occasionally, you can cut away a short section of the channel, say 50mm away from where each clip is positioned when the trim is in place, so that you just have to slide it 50mm in the right direction, and it will pop right off.

Good thinking by the way. Never thought of that!
