Does anyone know of a satisfactory new replacement for these strutts? Cotswold BMW, who have been excellent with my previous orders, have quoted £70 ea + Vat for the genuine BMW ones and seeing how they are not really 'on show' wonder if I could get away with non branded? Thank you.

Havnt received them yet so hopefully they are correct!!
Put the OEM part number in the search tab on the site and thats what they came up with.
Once I have received them and fitted ill put a post up.

As with all the parts on Autodoc, they give the cross reference to the BMW part number, so look up what it should be in one of the online ETKs, and check it's shown.

Excuse my ignorance...what an ETK ?.....are there BMWE30 diagrams available online somewhere to show part numbers of specific parts?

The ETK is what the parts counter in your BMW dealer uses to look up the part numbers of the bits you order.
There are online versions of it, such as RealOEM or http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E30/
Ignore the prices they show - they can be wildly out, and in a lot of cases the part you have doesn't look remotely like the part shown in the diagram.

Nice one Autodoc, perfect job at a fraction of the OEM price.
