Hi,
Can someone show me where the engine code/number are located on the 1985 M20 engine block and head. A clear photo or diagram of location would be great so I know where to look.

no picture sorry but the engine number will be on a flat surface near the bottom of the block on the left side near the engine mount.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

From what I can remember you'll be able to decipher the engine size from the number.
I think its covered in the wiki.

First two numbers are the engine size in decilitres. If the engine number starts with 25 then it's 2500cc (approx.)
