So the boot seal on my E30 saloon is gone and I need a new one. (part No. 51711884149)
BMW have quoted me cira £70 for one, whilst that isn't too, I can't help but feel I could get it cheaper else where at a specialist rubber trim company. I've scanned the net, and have found similar ones for about £4/5 per meter which is a huge saving! However, can seen to find the exact one from what i can gather from the dimensions on my original one.
Anyone have any reputable companies that they have used in the past that replaces our boot lid seals?!
Many thanks for any suggestions!
Cheers

I bought the real thing from BMW... it fits correctly with a kind of plug and socket arrangement at the join. A dry rear end is really worth while, you don't want water ingress from an incorrect profiled non oem part.
Just my two cents

I haven't used these for the E30 but had a seal from them in the past for something else. They just about stretch to something as new as the E30

One of mine will still be getting OEM stuff if it needs it but for the one I'm mucking about with one day I will try some of their stuff and compare it to what is on already.
Be curious if anyone has tried them before

I just tried them this weekend for the sunroof seal and it did not fit at all. Completely different design to the oem one. Wouldn’t recommend for that part at leastflybynite wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 10:13 amI haven't used these for the E30 but had a seal from them in the past for something else. I bought door seals off them for mine , I wouldn't recommend them , as the material is ok but they don't come as one piece .
