Another newbie! 325i Cabriolet :)
Moderator: martauto
Hey guys,
Newbie to the forum and newbie to e30 ownership.
Lots to do to my new 325i cabriolet so I’ll start a thread on that at some point. But look at him, isn’t he pretty 🥰
I have a couple of initial questions for you guys though....
What head units do you recommend? I’m looking for a period correct looking unit but would love some of the mod cons on it, Bluetooth ideally!
Also has anyone fitted a DAB enabled unit to their cab? Not sure about aerial placement?
Thanks
Bex

Thanks
it’s not that clean
it’s been off the road for several years so pretty much everything perishable needs replacing, full suspension set up, and a bit of body work. But it’s a REALLY solid car and one I can save and have as a very useable second car, which is what I wanted

Very very nice!
With head units, I'd say you've got two choices...
Depending on what's fitted to your car in your market (80's Alpine or Blaupunkt)
a. Stock with aftermarket mods - such as Bluetooth
e.g. Cantaloupe Bluetooth kit
b. period looking aftermarket - but the backlight colour may be out
e.g.Continental TRseries

Otherwise, you could muck about with other BMW head units.
I like option a. as it's THE original head unit.
The downside is you lose the cassette function so no more 'rad mix tapes'.

I've got a Continental in my cabby..with Ground Zero speakers... it's not bad but in a cab you've always got a lot of noise to deal with...the bass is OK but best with the roof off ..up loud it doesn't get hot as it's a class D power amp in there.
Downside the front is fixed...and it forgets what you were playing...on USB that's pretty dull...stop the car a grab a packet of crisps...start up and you're back to track 1 folder 1.

I guess the Bremen SQR 46 Dab is pretty much a straight swap with the old head unit once the Dab adapter module is connected using the old style FM aerial? Could anyone recommend some quality speakers to match onto the Bremen SQR ?
