i remember seeing the Red Evo2 at WLN when i was looking for a sport had everything i wanted, but i thought at the time the price was a bit high for my budget 6k and that i couldn't afford the insurance being 21 at the time
I do wonder sometimes...............I would of liked that car. Last i heard it was in scotland
But who could a zoner use and trust to get a nice South African person to source them an IS who they use also to put it on a container and get fozzy to sort it our end?!?!
Bit of a mission, but would be worth it for their rarity value alone i think.
SA boys did these Evo2's suffer with the same head cracking problems that many, many, many 325 have over the years? I expect a few are now using normal heads. Which could be a problem when viewing one for even u guys. Few issues with getting a sorted one before u even think of getting it sent over i think

Not sure who u could talk to about that... I'll have a chat with my tuner and see what he says, maybe he knows someone... I just don't have the time to do it.
On the issues with the head, I've never really heard of that ? On any of the cars as such over here.
I do know my mate cracked the head on his 325iS Evo2 2.9lt...cause he is runnin standalone management, and he leaned the car out a bit too much... but he's had the head redone and since then no problems.
XR6 Cortina...
I wouldn't mind a Capri Piranah, or Chez Forenza Can-Am... or Even a Sierra XR8 ... wikkidl old school cool cars

Fly over here, buy a Sport!Hyperion wrote:Oh and about the importing idea, i have been thinking about it as well, but just need to find out more about the cost involved.
Then just drive it back to South Africa
Cheaper than importing it!

They are substantially different and better cars than the uk models , all SA cars will have a/c and probably leather. I believe there was a red 325 IS for sale a while ago i think it was 6K ish , i wonder where it ended up ?.

hehehe..just imagine it, me and a navigator, blasting down Africa, Cairo to Cape style. But remember to watch out for the pot holes, elephants, civil wars, land mines, etc. Could always stop of in Chad for the view, Congo for the gorillas and diamonds, and Kenya for a quick rally.stevetigger wrote:Cannonball run drive to Africa

Dude cars dont rust in the TRANVAAL[HIGHVELD] as you know you dont buy one from the coast.
I also had a look on the south african autotrader web site a few months back and there was a nice 333i for sale for about R89 thats what you want.
Plus all the lebs and portos would have driven the sh1t out of them.
Cheers

I used to live on the coast (east london) and the cars used to rust like crazy, 4 years for most cars to start a little bit. The prices of cars in SA are stupid period, no matter what you buy, especially quality BM's.
I'm up for the drive to the Cape, like the Dakar rally did years ago, woooohoooo, i would have to sell my gas guzzler 320 though

The guy's name is Andrew.
Don't get me wrong. If I had the cash I'd be on a plane today to go get the car. I'd give him a bank guaranteed cheque and would zoom back down to M Bay - smiling all the way.
Oh well, maybe some day?
