M42 New rubber intake boot - Question

Hello

I bought new rubber intake boot and I found this wire inside. Is this suppose to be there or did they forgot to take it out, beacause if I squeez it I can take it out?
It's in only one of the 3 side ribs (first photo).

I'm assuming it's to add a bit of rigidity to the rubber rib.

Yes, it is supposed to stop the possibility of the hose collapsing and restricting the inlet tract.
