evening folks,

just wondering if anyone has used shiftknobs.eu?

looking at getting a new gearknob * maybe a new gaiter, & i came across this site,

prices look pretty good & any reviews i can find say it's all legit.

so, anyone used them?

I've not used them, but all in all fairness, looks good quality. Probably better than some non branded stuff from eBay.

thats what i was thinking, the same knobs on ebay are about £50+

As long as you can return the item it's probably worth checking it out.

I bought a replacement leather knob, not from those guys mind you, which was non oem and it did not fit correctly, as in it was off centre, rotated clockwise by about 15 degrees when pushed into the fork...which was also not correctly made so the knob would not engage correctly with the shaft and it would come off in my hand!

I ended up paying a little more from BMW for the real thing.

No innuendo intended!!! I mean chatting about my leather knob on-line is really asking for it.

hi paul, i've had a look & they have the usual 35days return policy so that seems pretty good,

as for gearknobs that dont fit?
i bought one from halfords 10yr's ago for an MG ZT i had at the time & that was the same, it would spin on the lever & even come off all together at times,

ended up getting one from rimmer bros.

also, leather bound knobs, rimmer's? gert & satan will have a field day with this

It's too funny!!

But an old sticky leathery knob is just too gross to handle in my opinion, I also replaced the steering wheel as the leather went really wiered, it was not possible to polish it up, always damp.

as for the steering wheel, i've got a refurbished 370mm tech one wheel waiting to go on.

i think so, IIRC the normal one is 390mm.
