Hi All,
I've been wanting an E30 touring for a good few years now and 3 months ago I finally went out and bought one. I wanted a car which I could drive regularly but also a bit of a project car I could work on and restore/upgrade/modify a few bits at a time. The car I found is a '93 318i Manual Touring. Body is in great shape with only a few minor rust spots. Interior is a little tatty with a few rips in the seats, saggy headliner and a cracked dashboard etc. Engine and drivetrain all feel great and drives nicely.
My plan is to enjoy the car this year whilst making sure everything works as it should and fix any little niggles (headlights need fixing, SI board batteries need swapping, indicators keep blowing fuses, half the speakers work and they rattle etc)
Over xmas in to next year I'll look to get the interior up to scratch, re-do the headliner, upholster the seats, clean and maybe dye the carpet etc.
Longer term plan is to do an engine swap and a full respray... but that is a few years down the line...
Anyway, I've been browsing the site for a good while now so thought it was about time to join, I'm sure ill have plenty of questions as I go!
