Fuel pump on the way out and then it finally gave up the ghost and died so I got my mechanic to replace the fuel pump he also said the starter motor looks like its on its way out as it was slow/sluggish so that was replaced, jeez what a difference that made as it spins up so fast and in replacing it it cured the problem with the needles in the cluster having a life of their own, result.
Then........ the wiper stalk failed as in where the wipers lock on and empties the washer bottle, managed to stop the car and bang the stalk a few times so it stopped, anyways had fun removing the stalk and tried a spare I had same problem then I remembered that I had never repaired the "spare" as it was the old one that failed years back so I had to strip the one that I took out of the car, shame I didn't take any photos, any ways as I had drilled out the two metal posts previously I just removed the bolts cleaned out the grease cleaned the contacts up re-greased re-assembled and put back into the car all now working fine.
Weird that had no issues for years then this lot happens within a week,
Well, that was a fun few days........

Any reason you need to replace yours, slow or needle issues or both, the mechanic said the starter motor was "lazy", wasn't too bad considering as with an exchange starter motor replacement fuel pump and I got him to fit the replacement alternator bracket which I have been meaning to fit for the last 4 years came in at £290

Good price even though you did not need it.

I think it would have gone eventually and the starter motor was about £100 and the fuel pump I think £72.
