My family were away for the weekend so just me, the dog, an E30 and a garage full of cleaning stuff - could only be one result !

Not my daily driver but does get used. Taking it out after a good clean does feel special.

Ahh. I'll stop polishing the boot then or else I'll end up with a 316.

The wheels are BMW Sterling Silver the same as the car. I think this is close to original as I haven't needed to do the centres and they match very good. I painted them myself - another long weekend!

Nothing at all I LOVE the 316 and all other E30's. I saw my very first unmolested standard E30 M3 last week in a guys garage - wow, I also LOVE them now!

It is a good car - I'm very pleased with it. Clean underneath now - another weekend bites the dust.

That interior is lovely, nice to see seats that aren't worn to hell and back.

Also the engine bay puts mine to shame but then again I think mine was a "last car off the line" that week and they decided to empty the protective wax spray gun,

Thanks for the encouraging comments . They waxed absolutely everything in the engine bay - it looked a real mess when new. I had two brand new and never really could keep them "clean" under the bonnet Now 30 years on the wax shows up more on some colours than others. Satan - your engine bay looks good ! I saw some horrors up and down the country whilst looking for my car - mine was filthy but not rusty so encouraged me to clean without removing the protective wax.. Here are some before and after.

You are missing the little foam rectangle in the bonnet foam though.

Some very impressive elbow greasing Mr Ozu, Which product did you use to strip away all the grime in the engine bay?

On the metal I just use a very tiny drop of petrol on a cloth - not lots. Used sparingly and avoiding perishable areas it doesn't remove the original wax and so leaves a clean bog standard look to the bay.
Finished off with a bit of polish and wax to protect.

My brake servo is a mess and lets it all down. And I’ve got grime on inner lip of lower bonnet. Must try harder

Scabby servos are the norm it seems and tend to let down a lot of obsessive owner's bays. I had mine out a while back and gave it some tlc, which on a lhd car is no easy task.

blimey, every time I come back from a long haul, the whole car is seriously filthy - Sterling Silber shows the muck really badly - I couldn't keep mine that clean - I'd never be able to drive the blighter!!
