Hi,
I am looking to drill and tap (M14x1.5) the cylinder at the blank location shown in the picture below to accept E30 Brown temp sender . Before embarking on this I would like advise if this is approach is a good idea or not?
Option 2, can I install the following line with the top radiator hose for installing the E30 temp sender?
Any advice greatly appreciated
Tapping M52 Cylinder head for E30 browm Temp Sender

on the right hand side of the pic is a hose , take this off it's not needed. then undo the fitting the pipe was attached to and remove it from the head, take this fitting with an e30 brown temp sensor to an engineering firm or an engine builders near you and get them to turn the thread on the sensor down to match the threads on the fitting you removed.

m52 b30 stroker 6-speed 318is Galvanizer
m42 touring
+ a yard full of scrap turds
Thank you for the advice, this what I was thinking of doing after doing some more research on the internet. With regards to removing the hose pipe, this is currently connected to the throttle body, do I not need this or do I just not connect the throttle to the water system?magpie wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 5:55 pmon the right hand side of the pic is a hose , take this off it's not needed. then undo the fitting the pipe was attached to and remove it from the head, take this fitting with an e30 brown temp sensor to an engineering firm or an engine builders near you and get them to turn the thread on the sensor down to match the threads on the fitting you removed.
I have managed to re-grind the existing temp sensor and tapped the correct thread on it (M12x1.5). If I get any issues with I will come back to you to purchase the sensor. Below is the picture of the finished sensor with the correct thread.
