Could anyone throw any light on an issue?
91 325i cabrio unmodified.
A while ago after my main battery had died (left the boot ajar) I had this issue but after driving for a while it all came back to normal.. I have had the engine out in Jan so the car was without power again for a while and the issue came back.
After start the green service lights remain on and only extinguish as the rpm goes above 2950, at the same time the econometer goes from Max mpg(full left deflection) to Min mpg (full right deflection). When driving the same but if the rpm is above 2950 and I take my foot off the accel the econometer reverts to Max mpg(full left) straight away ..
I have just had the SI board out and changed the batteries (the old ones were actually still good) and the board is undamaged and in good nick. but It is still doing the same thing. (Apart from the oil light now not working grrr. will check the circuit and bulb)
Anyone have any suggestions? I checked the new batteries at 3v each and in fact have 2 spare if anyone is after any. (the smaller lithium ones)
